🇨🇺 Johana Tablada, deputy director for U.S. Affairs at Cuba’s Foreign Ministry, has responded to U.S. claims of offering humanitarian aid after Hurricane Melissa.
Tablada clarified that, besides the U.S. announcing its intentions publicly, no concrete offer has been received from Washington through diplomatic channels.
Meanwhile, other nations and UN agencies have already provided aid or are finalizing deliveries to Cuba.
“We haven’t imposed any special conditions,” Tablada said. She pointed out that there are working channels for U.S. citizens and organizations who genuinely want to help — but they must overcome their own government’s restrictions.
